At Crossfit Vaughan/West Markham Crossfit, we strive to provide the best coaching to everyone, no matter age or fitness levels. Our mission is to ensure that you are better prepared both physically and mentally for whatever awaits you tomorrow, whether it is everyday activities or competitive sports.[/one_third] [one_third]
Crossfit Vaughan/West Markham Crossfit is a results driven community in which people train together in a group environment. The group training environment allows people to push themselves, hold each other accountable and develop long lasting relationships not found in other types of training facilities.
CrossFit is based upon constantly varied, functional movements that are executed at a high intensity (pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting and running). Our programming is structured in a way that enables our members to efficiently execute each movement safely and correctly. We emphasize greatly on mobility and warming up in each of our CrossFit classes. For those interested in starting CrossFit, all movements and weights are scalable based upon the individual’s ability.[/one_third] [one_third_last]

[bra_team_member member_name=”Wun Yan Chow” member_position=”Coach” member_img_src=”http://www.markhamsc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Wun.jpg” member_columns=”2″]CrossFit Level 1
Wun started his fitness journey at a young age while he was on elementary school teams competing in volleyball and basketball. Towards the end of his university education in Engineering, he tried a number of at-home programs where he made some improvements to his fitness. It was not until after graduation when he found himself at West Markham Crossfit where his journey took off.
He began Crossfit in 2013 and has not looked back since. At the time, he was by no means the strongest nor the best mover, but he had the internal drive to improve often spending time on his own to address his weaknesses. Four years later, he is at a stage where he believes he can finally begin to start expressing himself through the various movements required of Crossfit athletes. However, he does not believe in being satisfied and constantly strives to improve.
Wun obtained his CF-L1 in June 2016 and has been coaching at Vaughan/Markham Strength and Conditioning since. His main focus is on movement and basic principles. It is not how much weight being moved that is his priority, but how well the weight is moved. With new athletes, he breaks down movements into progressions and provides reasoning allowing the athletes to understand the movement and how it applies to them. Only when an athlete moves well does Wun believe they can progress through their training without the need to worry about sustaining injuries.
